The Honorable Society of King’s Inns – Workshop Exam Prep Course

Based on our years of experience in instructional design and of these entrance examinations, LawSchool.ie has developed a unique exam workshop programme which specifically prepares law graduates for the task of passing the entrance examinations to the Honorable Society of King’s Inns.

This programme is available live online and recorded through our online learning space. Learning is driven by the students on this programme who must prepare by digesting the materials provided to them before viewing each session.

The aim of the programme is to focus on core areas of the syllabus as they have arisen in the context of past examination papers. This allows students to more efficiently use their limited time to more effectively prepare for the examinations.

Workshop Sessions

In the workshops, students’ learning in each subject is supported through the provision of a hard copy manual of comprehensive notes (updated May 2024). Each class is delivered in the form of 10 x 2 hour sessions in which the course is broken down into manageable chunks for ease of revision and practice. In advance of viewing these sessions, students will be required to familiarise themselves from the relevant sections of their notes. Having reviewed the material students can then play the corresponding recording.

• Generally, the first hour of each session will typically consist of the instructor guiding students through the key issues in the relevant section, highlighting recent developments and explaining the more complex elements. It is not the purpose of this programme to re-teach the law but rather to revise and provide students with an overview of the core aspects of the syllabus.

• Generally, the second hour of each session will typically involve the instructor working through a number of different examination questions from past papers. This will consist of instruction on how to identify the legal issues arising in past questions, how to apply the law to those issues, and how to draft an appropriate response.

Highlights of this course include:
• Fully revised and updated courses materials (May 2024)
